Anti Ragging Policy

Arunodaya Institute of Legal Studies

Arunodaya Institute of Legal Studies follows a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within the campus premises and any act of ragging will invite serious disciplinary and legal action from the institution.

Ragging is a criminal offence governed under the Anti-Ragging Regulations framed by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The institution ensures strict compliance with all regulations related to prohibition, prevention, and elimination of ragging.

Ragging is punishable under Section 116 of the Karnataka Education Act, 1983 (Karnataka Act No. 1 of 1995) and may lead to suspension, expulsion, or legal prosecution.

What Constitutes Ragging?
  • Any act that causes or compels a student to perform actions that violate human dignity.
  • Actions exposing a student to ridicule or humiliation.
  • Forcing an individual through intimidation, restraint, or confinement.
  • Threatening or causing physical or mental harm.
  • Any activity that adversely affects the physical or psychological well-being of a student.

To Report Ragging:
Students may submit complaints to the Anti-Ragging Committee of Arunodaya Institute of Legal Studies through the official college administration.
